Where: T-Room, 1360 Barrington Street, Halifax
Presenters: Geoforce Group Limited & BIO-Oceans Association
Geoforce Group Limited is celebrating its long association with the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) by helping to promote “Voyage of Discovery”, a 50-year anniversary compendium featuring past and present marine research accomplishments at Canada’s leading oceanographic government laboratory.
“Voyage of Discovery”, published in 2014 offers a broad cross-section of BIO’s work in all relevant disciplines, including historic milestones of Canadian Marine Science, Ocean Life, Circulation and Chemistry, Hydrography and Seabed Mapping, Geological Oceanography, Fisheries, Ecosystems and Aquaculture, Energy, Technology and Instrument Development and much more.
On behalf of the Bedford Institute of Oceanography-Oceans Association (BIO-OA) and Geoforce Group Limited, Dr. Don Gordon will present an overview of the Voyage of Discovery with the theme “Passing the Torch” to future generations of ocean researchers. Don’s presentation will highlight a number of case studies including successful examples of industry-government collaborations.
Geoforce’s Ulrich Lobsiger will lead the Q & A session, stimulating an active discussion on the broad topics of effective collaboration in ocean science and technology development across disciplines and generations.
The BIO-Oceans Association will offer “Voyage of Discovery” for sale at a preferred price and Geoforce Group Limited will sponsor a raffle – you could win a copy of this marvellous compendium!
